We are excited to join this panel discussion which forms part of the Living River Foundation #Litterama exhibition which is happening through February and March at Chatham Historic Dockyard.

An evening event with local experts on the wildlife and threats of the Medway with a question and answer session.

• Hayley Taylor, Bird Wise Project Manager, hosted by Medway Council. Bird wise works with developers and the public to reduce the pressures of increased population density near wild bird nesting and overwintering habitat.
• Steve Colclough, estuarine fisheries specialist, working with the Institute of Fisheries Management. Steve advises on the habitats for juvenile fish in urban estuaries and the methods for measuring fish population health.
• Richard Turner, comes from a family of fishermen actively managing the fish taken from the Medway and the methods used. The Rochester Oyster and Floating Fisheries hold exclusive and long standing fishing rights within the River Medway from Garrison Point to Hawkwood Stone and are very keen to maintain and hopefully improve this marine environment.
• Kevin Thornton has surveyed birds for a number of decades across the UK, now based in the Medway towns he has collected and collated data on the bird movements in the estuary.
• Tanya Ferry, Founder of the Living River Foundation, an estuarine specialist and author of the Wildlife guide of the Thames & Medway estuaries, with the help of Steve and Kevin. Over the last four years the foundations projects include litter collection, community engagement and art, which will be in the room during the talks!
