Our Great Coastal Birdwatch is taking place from 17 October to 1 November 2026 to celebrate the return of our autumn migratory birds.  Join us to for a gentle walk around Higham Marshes with plenty of time to stop and observe the birds we spot and hear along the way. These walks are suitable for beginners and experienced birders alike. Well behaved dogs are welcome, but they must be kept on a lead to avoid disturbance.

Meeting place – Little Peckers Cafe, Nuralite Industrial Park, Canal Road, Higham, ME3 7JA

Time – 10.30-12.30

Parking – There is limited parking by the cafe, please park considerately so there is room left for cafe visitors.

Facilities – There are no toilet facilities at this location – the nearest ones are in Higham station.

Type of walk – Out and back on the pathways by the canal and out to the waters edge. Paths are fairly flat but can be muddy if it has been raining so suitable footwear is recommended
