Great Coastal Birdwatch Guided Walk at Conyer Creek

Join us during the Great Coastal Birdwatch 2024 to celebrate the return of our winter migratory birds as they come back to our coastline in north Kent.

This walk will take us out along Conyer Creek to watch the birds gathering to feed on the incoming tide.

Meeting outside The Ship, we will walk out on the England Coast Path on the sea wall along The Swale in a circular loop. The Rangers will be on hand to help identify the different birds we see and explain all about their migratory journeys and the habitats they depend on.

The paths are on hard standing but can be muddy if it has been raining so suitable walking footwear is recommended.  We will be out for approximately 2 hours with limited opportunities to sit down during the walk.  Due to this, the walk may not be suitable for those with limited mobility but it is possible to access on a mobility scooter.

Parking on Conyer Road is free. There are no public toilets on site but the closest ones are in The Ship during opening hours.

It is free to attend our walks but places are limited so booking is essential via our Eventbrite page here. Well behaved dogs are welcome but they must be kept on a lead to avoid disturbing the birds we are looking at, and there may be livestock in the fields we are walking through.
