Great Coastal Birdwatch at Riverside Country Park
Join us during the Great Coastal Birdwatch 2024 to celebrate the return of our winter migratory birds as they come back to our coastline in north Kent. This gentle guided walk is suitable for beginners and being half-term it is suitable for all the family.
Meeting in the main car park, we will walk out along the estuary, taking time to stop and identify birds we spot along the way. The Rangers will be on hand to help identify the different birds we see and explain all about their migratory journeys and the habitats they depend on.
This walk is on flat but uneven surfaces but there are opportunities to stop and sit down along the way so it is suitable for those with limited mobility. The coast is very exposed so layers, waterproof jacket and suitable walking footwear is recommended. We will be out for approximately 2 hours.
There are toilets and a cafe at the visitor centre. Parking is charged per day at the machines or via the RingGo app.
It is free to attend our walks but places are limited so booking is essential via our Eventbrite page here. Well behaved dogs are welcome but they must be kept on a lead to avoid disturbing the birds we are looking at.
