Beginners Bird Walk – Seasalter
Join us this half term for a walk along the coast at Seasalter out to the wonderful Kent Wildlife Trust South Swale reserve. We’ll be in Whitstable from 10am -12noon with information on the amazing wildlife that depends on this special coastline.
After lunch we are heading over to Seasalter for a guided walk, starting at 2pm from the toilets on Faversham Road. From there we will head out towards the South Swale reserve to see if we can spot some birds and other wildlife, hopefully we’ll catch a glimpse of the seals out on the Swale. Our wintering birds are getting ready to make their spring migration back to their arctic breeding grounds so don’t miss this opportunity to see them before they go
This walk is suitable for all the family and our rangers will help with identification. At Bird Wise we love our coastal canines so well behaved dogs are welcome but they do need to be kept on a lead during the walk to avoid disturbing any wildlife.
The path on top of the sea wall is flat but can be muddy so please wear suitable footwear. The walk is free to attend and there is free parking and a public toilet on Faversham Road.
Places are limited so please book your space using the ‘register’ link. It helps us if you can provide a correct email and contact number so we can contact you if anything changes. The walk will still go ahead if rain is forecast but if any weather warnings are issued we may need to cancel.
