Beginners Bird Walk – Oare Marshes
Join us this half term for a walk around the beautiful Kent Wildlife Trust Oare Marshes reserve. We’ll be at the reserve from 10.30am with information on the amazing wildlife that depends on this special place. Our friends from Kent Wildlife Trust will be on hand with fun activities for the children to get involved in.
At 2pm we will head out for a walk around the reserve to see if we can spot some birds and other wildlife, hopefully we’ll catch a glimpse of the seals out on the Swale. Our wintering birds are getting ready to make their spring migration back to their arctic breeding grounds so don’t miss this opportunity to see them before they go
This walk is suitable for all the family and our rangers will help with identification. At Bird Wise we love our coastal canines so well behaved dogs are welcome but they do need to be kept on a lead within the nature reserve.
The paths around the reserve are flat but can be muddy so please wear suitable footwear. The walk is free to attend but there is a charge for parking on the reserve which is payable by mobile or the RingGo app. Please note there are no toilet facilities at the reserve.
Places are limited so please book your space using the ‘register’ link. It helps us if you can provide a correct email and contact number so we can contact you if anything changes. The walk will still go ahead if rain is forecast but if any weather warnings are issued we may need to cancel.
